How do Cash Gifts work?

Quick answer: Cash Gifts let fans fund a physical item that does not have a direct link to buy. The money lands in your Throne Balance and you buy the item yourself.

What it is

Sometimes the thing you want is not something Throne can order for you directly. Think a local store, an experience, or something you need to pick up in person. That's what Cash Gifts are for. Your fans send the funds, they land in your Throne Balance, and you take it from there.

Just keep in mind: Cash Gifts have to be tied to a real physical product. They're not a tip jar, so listing something like "cash," "money," or "$50" isn't allowed.

If you're in a Partially Available country, Cash Gifts are how your fans can still support you. See "Which countries does Throne support?"

How to add a Cash Gift

There are two ways to add a Cash Gift:

  • From your wishlist, press "+ Add Wish"

  • From the Gift Store, press "+ Add Manually"

Set the amount to cover the full cost of the item.

What it costs

The service fee for Cash Gifts is 9.75% of the gift value. See "What fees are paid at checkout?" for why we charge fees.

How it differs from Direct Credit

A Cash Gift is a type of Direct Credit item.

Direct Credit (also called Payout) just means an item's value goes to your Throne Balance instead of getting shipped. That happens when a merchant isn't supported, when you're in a country Throne can't ship to, or when you mark a regular item as payout yourself.

A Cash Gift is one specific way to trigger that: instead of linking to a real product, you just enter an amount and a description directly, no link required. It's for things you can't point to online, like a custom order or something local.

What is not allowed

Cash Gifts can't be used for NSFW or adult items, firearms, alcohol, tobacco, THC, illegal drugs, live animals, or anything involving threats of violence or self-harm, as outlined in our Terms of Service.
