Quick answer: Throne uses two types of verification codes to keep your account secure: one you set up yourself (SMS), and one that kicks in automatically when we don't recognize your sign-in (email).
Text message (SMS) codes
You can turn on SMS verification from the web version of Throne. Once it's on, after you enter your login we'll text a 6-digit code to your phone to finish signing in. SMS verification is available for accounts that signed up with an email and password.
If you log in through a connected account like Google, Apple, Twitch, YouTube, or X, SMS 2FA isn't available, since those providers handle sign-in security on their end.
The code box submits automatically once you enter all 6 digits. There's a Verify code button if you need it.
Email codes
This one is automatic, you do not turn it on. If we don't recognize your sign-in (a new device or location, for example), we'll email you a 4-digit code to confirm it's you. You won't get one every time: once you've verified, we trust that device and location for 30 days. Brand-new accounts are also skipped for the first 24 hours. Email codes apply when you sign in with your email and password.
The code can take a few minutes to arrive, so check your spam folder if you don't see it. There's a Resend option if you need a new one.
