Quick answer: Community Gifts (also called crowdfunding) let your fans chip in together toward one bigger item instead of one person covering the whole thing.
What it is
You set a goal amount on an item, and fans contribute until it's reached. If contributions go past the goal, the extra automatically moves to your Throne Balance. There's a $10 minimum item price to enable crowdfunding on an item, and a $5 minimum per individual contribution, both due to payment processing fees.
How to set one up
When you add an item, turn on "Enable Community Gifting" before saving. Already have the item on your list? Edit it and flip the same toggle. One thing to keep in mind: once an item has received any contributions, you can no longer turn Community Gifting off on it.
Before you start, make sure you can withdraw in your country. If you can't, contributions can't be refunded to fans once made. See "Which countries does Throne support?"
What it costs
Crowdfunded payout items carry a one-time 9.75% service fee on the goal. It is charged once for the whole crowdfund, not per contribution. Fans see the goal plus the fee, so a $100 goal shows as $109.75.
Stopping funding early
Changed your mind about a crowdfund? You can stop it at any time and move the funds raised so far into your Throne Balance.
See "Can I stop a Community (Crowdfunding) Gift I am collecting, and why did I receive less than was raised?" for the steps and what happens to the fee.
