Having trouble with the Discord ThroneBot?

The following guide should help!

Step 1

In your discord server, click on Server Settings

Go to roles on the left side bar, and click on the Create Role button, and give your throne bot role a name.

Step 2

Navigate to the Permissions section, and make sure to enable the following permissions:

1. View Channels
2. Send Messages
3. Send Messages in Threads
4. Embed Links
5. Attach Files
6. Mention @everyone, @here, and All Roles

Step 3

In the channel where you want the ThroneBot to post about your updates, click on the cog to edit the channel.

Navigate to the Permissions section on the left side bar.

Note that depending on your discord server setup, you might not have the same yellow warning box as in the picture below, but it doesn’t matter.

In the Advanced permissions section, click on @everyone, and in the General Channel Permissions section, make sure you enable the following permissions:

1. View Channels
2. Send Messages
3. Send Messages in Threads
4. Embed Links
5. Attach Files
6. Mention @everyone, @here, and All Roles

Then, Again, in the Advanced permissions section, click on the + sign and choose the role with the name that you had created earlier in step 2, and in the General Channel Permissions section, make sure you enable the same permissions as above:

1. View Channels
2. Send Messages
3. Send Messages in Threads
4. Embed Links
5. Attach Files
6. Mention @everyone, @here, and All Roles

Step 4

Connect your discord server on Throne’s side by navigating to: https://throne.com/profile/integrations/discord

Choose the channel that you want the throne bot to post to (the one you just set up above in step 3), and choose which type of updates you would like to receive, and then click save settings.

Step 5

Depending on your setup, you should receive a welcome message in the channel you picked as shown below! (If you don’t receive the message, go to step 6)

(Note that if you already received this welcome message in this channel before, you won’t receive it again. In that case, to make sure that everything works as expected, try adding an item to you throne wishlist, and you should receive a post about that item in your channel)

Step 6

Make sure to assign the role you created in step 1 to the throneBot that has now been added to your discord server.

To make sure everything works, try adding an item to your throne wishlist. The throne bot should post about the new item you added to your wishlist in the channel you chose in step 3.

Note: if you wish to change the channel where you want the throneBot to post, then you would have to redo steps 3 to 6 over again.

You should now be all set!
