What happens with chargebacks?

Quick answer: If something went wrong, reach out before filing a chargeback. Chargebacks are decided by the fan's bank, not Throne, and they can freeze a creator's funds.

For fans

If something went wrong with a gift, contact us first instead of going straight to your bank. A chargeback can freeze the creator's funds and may restrict your account. If you think a purchase was fraudulent, report it and we'll investigate. See "Can I get a refund as a gifter?" and "How do I report a scam, harassment, or safety concern?"

For creators (a fan filed a chargeback)

If a chargeback is filed, we'll let you know. In most cases you don't need to do anything, and if a temporary adjustment was made to your account, it may be reversed once the dispute resolves in your favor.

Keep in mind: a chargeback is decided by the fan's bank, not by Throne. If the bank rules in the fan's favor, the disputed amount may not be returned. If we need anything from you to contest the dispute, we'll reach out.
