Yes, you can cancel a crowdfunded community gift at any time!
Before doing so, please consider how your fans may feel if they contributed toward an item they expected to be funded. Canceling community goals without communicating with your fans can damage trust within your community.
What happens when a crowdfunded item is canceled?
When a crowdfunded item is canceled, the funds raised (minus applicable fees) are transferred to your Throne Balance. Contributions cannot be refunded to fans.
Why is the amount transferred lower than the amount raised?
Crowdfunded items include a one-time service fee in the total goal amount. This fee is charged only once for the entire crowdfund, not per contribution.
For example:
You create a $100 USD crowdfunded payout item.
A one-time 9.75% service fee is added.
Your community goal is displayed as $109.75 USD.
Fans also pay standard payment processing fees on their individual contributions.
If the crowdfund is canceled before reaching its goal, the unpaid portion of the one-time service fee is deducted from the funds raised before the remaining balance is transferred to your Throne Balance. This is why the amount received may appear lower than the total contributions shown on the goal.
How do I cancel a community gift?
Visit your wishlist from a web browser (not the app!)
Select the crowdfunded item.
Click the three dots (
⋮).Select Abort Community Gift.
Confirm that you would like to cancel the goal and transfer the remaining funds to your Throne Balance.
We recommend only creating crowdfunded goals for items you genuinely intend to receive and keeping your community informed if your plans change.
